Real People. Real Stories.
Join us for a one-night-only event showcasing the voices of young people from across the city. Students at Middle College High School have collaborated with the Orpheum Theatre Group to create original theatrical performances sharing their stories in their own words.
Storyfest features FREE live performances, engagement activities, and community reflections at the Halloran Centre for Performing Arts & Education. Please note that Storyfest is created and shared by the participants you see, in their own words and voices, from their own point of view and the Orpheum embraces all stories. Some material contains mature themes.
The Stories
Puzzle Pieces of Me
How do we become the people we’re supposed to be? How do we put together a complete picture from the different parts of ourselves? Meet Zyiar, Jaida, Allanah, Kelton, Morgan, Camilya, James, Peyton, T’Zyria, and Antonio as they share real stories about how they deal with the fears and obstacles of growing up. And, in discovering themselves, how they fit into the greater puzzle of life. Created in partnership with Middle College High School.
You Are Not Alone
When self-doubt and fear cloud our way forward, how do we discover our personal power? How can we learn to trust in our own strength and faith? Meet Brooklyn, Nai’Jah, Tristian, Braylon, Greg, Yoselin, Robyn, Michaela, Dehanna, Wardarius, and Elle—students at Middle College High School who share their personal stories of facing setbacks with determination and faith. With each obstacle they face, they emerge wiser, stronger, and more fearless. Created in partnership with Middle College High School.
