Arts Explore!
Jun 9 - 13, 2025
Jun 16 - 27, 2025
“ALL ABOARD!” Take your skill to the next level! Join us for a two-week intensive training where students will be immersed in the new musical Hadestown.
Hadestown is the contemporary retelling of the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice written by acclaimed singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell.
With audition preparation, classes, rehearsals, and guest artists, our teaching artists will inspire future performers, build confidence, and provide foundational training for those considering auditioning for college theatre programs or pursuing careers in musical theatre.
Students will be divided into small ensembles based on their audition so our teaching artists can adapt instruction that meets students where they are and provides additional challenges for students with previous experience.
Students will step into the roles of Orpheus, Eurydice, Hades, Persephone, Hermes, and the Fates as they perform scenes, songs, and choreography from Hadestown, culminating in a public performance on the final afternoon of the session.
June 16th-20th and 23th-27th from 10 AM-5 PM with a special public performance on the final Friday afternoon.
Please note that the program will not meet on Juneteenth in recognition of the holiday.
This session is by application only. An application with submission materials is required to be accepted to the program and must be received by May 13, 2025. Final payments are due May 27, 2025. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Early applications are strongly encouraged.
