Our Community Programs bring people together through the performing arts, focusing on teamwork, storytelling, and artistic expression. By partnering with a variety of organization directly in neighborhoods, we create access, empower participants, and celebrate the diverse stories at the heart and soul of Memphis.
In From Where I Stand, the Orpheum Theatre Group partners with schools or community organizations to collaborate in an artistic process that culminates in a transformative storytelling performance celebrating each participant’s unique point of view.
This community play-making program explores the stories of a Memphis neighborhood and collaboratively creates a play with and about its community.
Our Teaching Artist Training Program trains local artists and educators how to leverage their artistic practice in creating high-quality instruction and facilitation for youth and communities throughout the Mid-South.
