Inspiring and Enlightening Through the Arts

Education and Community - The Orpheum Theatre Group

Students shine on stage at Orpheum Theatre Group Summer Camp.

Helping Stories Find Their Stage

The Orpheum Theatre Group firmly believes in the transformative power of storytelling. Creating access and opportunity to bravely share your story, experience the stories of others, and discover shared humanity in the company of one another is at the heart of every education and community program the Orpheum Theatre Group offers.

Igniting Imagination, Nurturing Community

The Orpheum Theatre Group’s education and community programs cultivate creative expression, collaboration, confidence, and community for all ages. Through initiatives like Mending Hearts Camp, Camp SAY, Teaching Artist Training Program, and many more, people come together to be heard, nurtured, and inspired.

Declaration of Action

We commit to engaging and collaborating with the people of the Mid-South through the transformative power of the arts.

I learned that I can do so many things that I thought I couldn’t do before. If I can go out there, in front of the audience, and speak about what was a vulnerable time for me and project my voice and all of that, I feel like I can do so much more. I feel more brave.”

Malek — Youth Participant from Middle College High School

During my time on STAR council, I have developed an understanding of the commitment and dedication a production requires. I no longer leave events without sincerely thanking someone for their work. I have applied this to all aspects of my life. From school to the greater Memphis community, I now see that there are no small roles.”

Danni — STAR Council Participant

Every day that I came here, I didn’t come out the same way I came. It made me feel like I was ready to take on anything in life.”
