Field trips at the Orpheum Theatre and Halloran Centre open young minds to a lifelong love of theatre and the arts.
Classrooms from throughout the Mid-South are invited to special daytime performances of specially curated educational shows with curriculum tie-ins. Since 2002, the Orpheum Theatre Group’s Student Matinee Series has inspired thousands of students to explore the boundless possibilities of imagination. We bring high-quality theatre for young audiences from around the world educate and entertain students ranging from Pre-K through high school. Supplemental materials are available to help instructors connect the stage with classroom curriculum. Grants are available to broaden school access.
A series of Interactive Field Trips gives students the opportunity to participate in a variety of music, choreography, and acting classes. Students of all ages are invited to join local teaching artists in the Halloran Centre classrooms for fun and engaging learning. Choose from three options: Stepping Into the Story: Creative Drama (grades Pre-K-2), Broadway Sampler (grades 3-8), or Writing Comes Alive: Playwriting Through Improvisation (grades 6-12).
