Discover your next favorite artist at the Memphis Songwriters Series, hosted by Memphis songwriter Mark Edgar Stuart.

Mark and his musical guests take audiences on a journey behind the music, sharing personal stories and introducing exciting new works.

This innovative, immersive experience lifts the veil on Memphis’ longstanding songwriting tradition for music fans of all genres to enjoy.

Each Songwriters Series performance features three of Memphis’ own seasoned musicians.

Host Mark Edgar Stuart was the go-to bass player for an elite group of record producers and artists. As a sideman he has toured with some of Memphis' finest exports, one which led to an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.  In 2010, he put down his bass, picked up a guitar and started writing songs. His debut CD, Blues for Lou, earned him “Record Of The Year” by the Memphis Flyer. Since then he has become one of the city's most beloved singer-songwriters, and has enjoyed national recognition in publications such as Garden & Gun, Paste, & Los Angeles Times.

The PRVLG

A privilege is considered a rare opportunity, which is exactly why The PRVLG fits this set of twins so effortlessly. Their act brings the rhythm section to the forefront of the stage unlike any other band around.

Creating a timeless sound that seamlessly mixes a vintage flare with a contemporary delivery, this set of twins certainly bring an element to music that is unheard of. A blend of Indie pop-esque melodies with some funk, soul, jazz, and r&b make for a Memphis version of Prince.

With Christian on bass and Christopher on drums and both singing simultaneously, the pair craft a truly authentically refreshing, live sound.

Jeremy Stanfill

Jeremy is a born and bred Memphian, with music in his bones. He writes and sings shootin’ the moon-style Americana songs of heartbreaking honesty that evoke that difficult space where the sadness of wandering lost is the same feeling as the joy of freedom.
