Celebrate the art of songwriting and the inspiration behind the music with the Memphis Songwriters Series at the Halloran Centre.
Sit back and enjoy as host Mark Edgar Stuart passes the mic to Memphis’ finest singer-songwriters in a personal, conversational setting. Experience the music, the stories, and the inspiration behind the unique creations that shape the distinctive sound of Memphis music.
Born and raised in the Home of the Blues, Keer is a prolific singer-songwriter and performer in the vibrant Memphis music community.
She is an explorer in every sense of the word, a nomad of life. Her music is a reflection of her own wanderlust, a diary of personal discovery. The musical genres Keer works in reflect her own curiosity, ranging from soulful ballads to bold punk rock moments. She refuses to be easily understood.
Keer is a member of the Music Export Memphis 2026 Ambassador Access Cohort. She performs solo, in a duo, and in an eponymous band. Keer has placed in a statewide singing competition, won a local songwriting award, and has appeared on Radio Memphis, We Are Memphis, WYXR, and WEVL.
Walt Phelan is a songwriter from Memphis, Tennessee, with two albums to his name, including last year's You, Mountain. He's now at work on a new folk/psych record under a new group name, Found Harmonium.
Deanna Dixon writes songs that shimmer between raw honesty and dream-like imagination. Blending pop energy with soulful storytelling, her music invites listeners into a world where chaos and beauty dance side-by-side. With her debut single "Electric Fairy," she turns lived experience into a powerful anthem—equal parts vulnerable, defiant, and unforgettable. From the streets of Memphis to stages yet to come, Deanna creates music that feels alive, electric, and deeply human.
